"Forgiveness"

by MATTHEW WEST It’s the hardest thing to give away And the last thing on your mind today It always goes to those that don’t deserve It’s the opposite of how you feel When the pain they caused is just too real It takes everything you have just to say the word… Forgiveness

"Do Something"

by Matthew West I woke up this morning Saw a world full of trouble now Thought, how’d we ever get so far down How’s it ever gonna turn around So I turned my eyes to Heaven I thought, “God, why don’t You do something?” Well, I just couldn’t bear the thought of People living in poverty Children sold into slavery The thought disgusted me So, I shook my fist at Heaven Said, “God, why don’t You do something?” He said, “I did, I created you”

The Religion of Peace

Hey, maybe they are just having a bad day; they just got out of the wrong side of the bed.  We should try to understand why they feel like this; what have done.

Ashley Judd, My kind of girl, opps My kind of Woman

Today is the first day of my 5-2 diet.  Eat 5 days a week and fast for 2 days, so far so good.   I thought I have to have something to eat so I thought I would have Half an energy bar for lunch and maybe have a cup of yogurt for dinner; and also fill up on water.  I am also planing excerizing mor but not on the fasting days.  I should be able to do that two dys a week, right?  I think so. Also the act of not eating when you are hungry is a form of discipline, something I am surely lacking.          Maybe I could take the act of denying myself something could help me in other ways.

Being White in Philly

Image
The Black mayor of Philadelphia is outraged of the article that appeared in a Philly magazine.  He wants it investigated, whatever that means.  Read it for yourself, I think it is rather mind.  Here is the good mayors take on it.  is.gd/w0odgW My younger son goes to Temple , where he’s a sophomore. This year he’s living in an apartment with two friends at 19th and Diamond, just a few blocks from campus. It’s a dangerous neighborhood. Whenever I go see Nick, I get antsy and wonder what I was thinking, allowing him to rent there. One day, before I pick him up for lunch, I stop to talk to a cop who’s parked a block away from Nick’s apartment. “Is he already enrolled for classes?” the cop says when I point out where my son lives. Well, given that it’s December, I think so. But his message is clear: Bad idea, this neighborhood. A lot of burglaries and robberies. Temple students are prime prey, the cop says. Later, driving up Broad Street as I head home to Mount Airy, I ...
I am sitting in the poker room at the casino waiting for the wife to get us rich, maybe.  While waiting for that to happen I am easing my last book I have on Kindle/iPad and watching other people trying to get rich at the poker tables.  I am sitting here getting not rich or poorer.  There is a room next to this one where there are other people trying to get rich betting on the ponies and dogs; I again am not partisapating.  As usual I am watching the world go by; I am observing people, places and things.

Carson: Obama Trying to ‘Destroy the Country’

Image
Is he, Ben Carson, running for president? Yes/No?   He seems to be somebody I could support; but he would have to stand up to a lot of scrutiny, by me.  He has not held public office, big problem for me but Obama had, really no political experience either.  I hope to God he is who he seems to be.

Ed Wynn

A lovable face, I think. Something very sweet about it. Ed Wynn's real name was Isaiah Edwin Leopold. He made the middle name — we're told — into his whole name "to save his family the embarrassment of having a lowly comedian as a relative." You may remember him from the "Twilight Zone" episode "Ninety Years Without Slumbering" — about an old man who believed he would die if his clock stopped. Can you remember whether the clock stops and, if so, whether the man dies? He looks a little like the new Pope?

Comparison between the Ghost over the Zagg Screen Protector

Went to the mall to have a Ghost screen protector put on my iPad mini.  I paid $25.00 installed and it looks great.  The zagg protector cost $30and you have to install it yourself and it doesn't look as good as the Ghost protector.  I installed a zagg screen protector, $30 uninstalled, on my old iPad and did a fairly good job of installing it but when you look at the screen at an angle it looks like it is wet, almost like it has tiny little waves on the screen; the Ghost doesn't have that; it is perfectly flat and clear.  I haven't have it on for a very long time so not sure about the durability of the product.  There was a little speck that was just very noticeable 3 or 4 days after installation and I took it back to the kiosk where I bought it from and asked him if he could fix it and he gladly said he would replace the whole thing.  I would diffidently recommend the Ghost protector over the zagg.
